Alive and kicking, their newest release is 2020's third installment to their Gleam EP series, a set of stripped-down tracks that NPR notes as "a series of songs that remind you why people fell in love with this band in the first place."
"The lyrics, the honesty, the feeling you could be in the room, right there, up close with them as they sing their heart out," NPR shares in its review.
Well, that feeling you could be right up close with them is right around the corner… Presented by Stanford Live & Goldenvoice, The Avett Brothers are hitting the stage at Frost Amphitheater on September 23rd.
With a roster of tour dates lined up for the rest of the year, the brothers' music is definitely alive and kicking, and fans keep on coming back for more. We get the hype! Nothing can match a night of singing your heart out to "Live and Die", "February Seven", "Ain't No Man", "High Steppin'", and "I and Love and You".
Led by Seth and Scott Avett, the band's music remains fueled by passion and honest songwriting at its core. Bagging Grammy nominations for Best Americana Album with "The Carpenter", Best American Roots Performance with "Ain't No Man", and Best Americana Album for "True Sadness", their music definitely speaks for itself.
In an interview with The Blue Grass Station, talking about what sets their new record apart from their previous releases, Scott explains "If there was a heart or soul or spirit to everything we do, [The Gleams] orbit a bit closer to that. If there’s layers to an entity or a life, this is kind of at the pure center of it."
Celebrating over twenty years in the industry, fans always have a reason to come back to The Avett Brothers' lyrical tales, it's music that connects. Though we're yet to see if a new record is coming out real soon, big surprises might just be around the corner.
