All of us here at Frost Amphitheater, located in Stanford California, are so excited to welcome The Rose to the stage as they take on the next phase of their international touring saga and crazy set of shows across the world for all of us to view, attend, and enjoy! Hitting Stanford on August 3rd, the Once Upon A WRLD Tour will also be going to Europe, Latin America, and hosting other concerts across the states from June to September. They kick off the tour with a show in Zurich, hit up London for two nights in the middle of June, travel to Mexico City as the summer winds down, a show in Chicago, and of course - one night here at Frost, and only two shows in California on this circuit.
The Rose, composed of members Woosung Dojoon Hajoon and Jaehyeong, got their start busking around a decade ago, often having trouble connecting and creating a spark as the two original members tried to fit singing and rocking out into their busy schedules. Originally going by the name WIndfall, the band released covers of other popular songs on YouTube in their earlier days, and eventually, all four members of the group came together with a set goal - succeed, by any means necessary.
By 2017, the band was releasing music under their new name The Rose, and catching attention from major industry players like Rolling Stone India and Billboard for their single Sorry. With only two singles out, the band made a European debut tour, and later that year hosted a solo show in Seoul - both of which had sell out dates and screaming fans attend, dying to see who the mysterious band was. They took years to finally release their first album - 2022’s Heal - which saw the band reach new heights and acclaim. Touring across the world, playing to ten thousand fans at Lolla Chile and Coachella, and collabs with mega artists like BTS and the visual artist Sakamoto.
It’s spectacular - the group feels like they’ve just become all the rage, but they’ve had ten years to hone their sound and get it right. Now, determined to take on the world on their own terms, the only question is - what’s next for The Rose? Well, after their Once Upon A WRLD Tour, that is!
Get your tickets today - you won’t want to miss this one. See you on August 3rd, right here at Frost.
